Overview
Sparq set out to disrupt the vaporizer market with a new category of inhalation devices—ones that replaced nicotine and harmful chemicals with high-quality vitamins and herbal blends. The brand’s mission was to promote a more health-conscious, active lifestyle through plant-based science and precision design.
Approach
To help bring this innovation to life, I led the creation of a brand identity that highlighted the connection between each formulation’s natural ingredients and its intended physical or emotional effect. The naming system was kept simple and bold—four-letter words like Fuel or Melt—each paired with elemental visuals that echoed the product’s benefit. Forest imagery expressed the energizing effect of Fuel, while melting ice suggested transformation for Melt.
The identity system extended deeper into nature by incorporating the Golden Ratio—a mathematical expression found in science and organic forms. This structure shaped everything from the logo to the packaging, creating a visual language that felt both clean and grounded in the natural world. Neutral tones, geometric layouts, and minimal typography gave the brand a refined yet earthy presence—striking a balance between rustic inspiration and modern science.
Sparq’s voice was designed to feel elevated and research-driven, reflecting the sophistication behind both the product design and the inhalable formulations. Every aspect of the brand was crafted to resonate with health-conscious, forward-thinking consumers who see wellness as a lifestyle—and nature as its foundation.
The work helped launch a successful crowdfunding campaign, with Sparq raising over $100K on Indiegogo—more than 500% of their original goal, with time to spare.
